The Black Eagle Project Roodekrans is a non profit organization (PBO 930024143) and is dependant on sponsorship and donations from the corporate and public sector. Without this support the project would not have been able to achieve many of its necessary goals like fencing, supplementation, web page, web cam and education. These are all ongoing projects.

HOW WE GO ABOUT RAISING FUNDS

Probably the oldest and surest way off collecting funds has been our collection box at the monitoring point over weekends in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden by the waterfall. We have a telescope set up for the monitors to observe the eagles, for a small donation the public may also have a peek at what the eagles are up to. This covers a few of the smaller mundane day-to-day running expenses.

Many of our supporters have asked us if they can bequeath a donation. Yes you may, we are only too touched that these eagles mean so much to some of our supporters that they would like to remember them when they move on to the castle in the sky.
We will accept donations in lieu of flowers, and we are once again very touched at the thought as these eagles are special creatures and perhaps closest to our creator.

We accept company end of year donations, for which the company, will receive a framed certificate of sponsorship and free advertising on our webpage.

Black Eagle Research

Fund Raising Dinner. In 2005 we decided to have our first ever fund raising dinner/auction at the Eagle's Fare Restaurant. It was a huge amount of preparation but great fun and was really encouraging to see how many people are prepared to put their money where their mouths are. We managed to raise a clear R70 000.00 and I was really grateful to all who sponsored prizes. In 2006 we moved the dinner to a restaurant in Ruimsig, unfortunately it was not as successful as the previous year, but the entertainment was superb.

Charity Lunches/Talks. Avis chose the Black Eagles as their charity for their pledge luncheon and we would like more companies to follow suit. We are happy to come along and talk to the guests about our work and of course show them slides of these magnificent eagles.
